Frankie Doodle’s
About This Spot
Pulling up to Frankie Doodle’s, you’re greeted by a time-honored corner of Spokane that feels like slipping into a story both familiar and warmly inviting. The hum of quiet chatter and the steady clinking of coffee cups set a comfortable rhythm here, where the pace is unhurried and every face seems to belong to a regular or someone on the way to becoming one.
This isn’t a place for bright lights or flashy finishes—it’s the kind of spot where the well-worn booths and amber-toned mugs contribute to an unspoken sense of belonging, a small respite from the city’s buzz. The moment you sit down, the surroundings encourage you to settle in, whether for a quiet breakfast or a casual meal that stretches into easy conversation.
The heart of Frankie Doodle’s lies in its genuinely comforting approach to classic diner fare. Plates arrive with a warmth that goes beyond the temperature of the food—hearty rolls, cinnamon rolls almost too big to finish, and eggs made just right, often accompanied by crispy hashbrowns that tell tales of careful, not rushed, cooking. The menu’s generosity and variety make it clear that meals here are crafted to appeal to a broad neighborhood crowd, from solo mornings with coffee to lively family dinners around simple, honest food.
Though this diner has been around long enough to wear some of that history in its walls and corners, the service here is anything but tired. Even during busy days, there’s a steady attentiveness that blends discreet professionalism with genuine kindness. Staff members seem tuned in to the needs of each table, ready to accommodate without fuss, creating a sense of ease that adds to the overall familiarity.
Whether you’re drawn by a craving for a sticky-sweet cinnamon roll, a generous omelette stacked with just the right ingredients, or a plate reminiscent of a loyal neighborhood staple, Frankie Doodle’s offers a thoughtful haven. It’s a place where the focus feels quietly placed on sharing good food and straightforward moments, the kind that linger quietly as you leave and find their way into your memories of Spokane’s everyday comforts.

I was there for a meeting today. We needed one more table and more chairs. They were so accommodating. Our server did a great job, got everybody’s order right, even with separate checks. Food was really good.

I had an amazing breakfast at Frankie Doodle over Labor Day weekend! Even though there was only one server working, she did an incredible job keeping up with everyone and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was fresh, tasty, and really hit the spot. I was impressed with how smoothly everything ran despite it being a busy holiday. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying breakfast!

Classic American diner. I had eggs, hasbrowns and toast, which were all good! The hasbrowns were nice and crispy but a little soggy with cooking oil. I ordered a cinnamon roll to go. It was huge and delicious! Service was fantastic!

Its been around a long time so youre not going to see polished and shiny. But the staff here are friendly, food comes hot and fresh, and to boot tastes great! Not pricey, good family dining spot!

Something about brown-glazed ceramic coffee mugs and amber-toned plastic cups in an old-fashioned diner that screams comfort and nostalgia. The menu is vast. The food was cooked, perfect to my order-- Hashbrowns extra crispy, please! Nailed it. I ordered the Spinach Bacon Omelette, add mushrooms. The hollandaise that topped the omelet was set well, no breaks in the sauce, perfectly palatable. It's great that they offer many bread options. I chose a bagel with cream cheese, but they also offered toast, biscuit, English muffins, and other sweet muffin choices. This is not my first visit to Frankie Doodle's, so I feel confident to attest to their consistently great food, service, and nostalgic atmosphere. Long live the classic diner!

I’ve lived in Spokane my whole life. I see the sign off the freeway, and I’ve always assumed this was just some abandon sign/building. Went there a couple days ago, and man, it has the classic diner, quintin terrantino pulp fiction vibe. I like the old grungy feel. It’s not dirty, it’s just older. It has character. Service and food was phenomenal. Home made muffin was to die for. Omelette was hefty and filled me up. If I was an old timer who could afford to go out everyday, I’d become a regular. i’m
